The Vision Soccer Academy Board of Directors meets the second Wednesday of each month at the Dahl's (156th and Hickman Road) Community Room at 7:00 p.m. (7:30 p.m. in the months of April, May, September and October).  Notification of the annual meeting (held in December) will be sent to our entire membership.  The meetings are open to our membership.  

Board Positions Descriptions

 

President: The President shall be the principal executive officer of the Academy and shall in general supervise and control all of the business and affairs of the Academy.  The President shall preside, when present, at the Annual Meetings.  The President shall have the following duties and responsibilities: 1) to oversee and coordinate the activities of the Academy, the Board of Director, and designee(s) of the Board of Directors; 2) to preside at all Board of Director and membership meetings; 3) to serve (or delegate to other Board of Director members to serve) as an ex-officio member of all Academy’s committees; 4) to appoint special or ad hoc committees, subject to Board of Director approval; 5) to appoint, subject to ratification by the Board of Directors, Chairs, and other members of all standing committees, except where otherwise provided; 6) to perform all other duties as shall be necessary to promote and uphold the welfare of youth soccer and to positively affect “the good of the game”; and 7) to rule on disputes of the membership with regard to procedures and interpretation of the Bylaws.  In order to be eligible to be elected as President, you must have served as a Board of Director member in the past.

 

Vice President:  In the absence of the President, in the case of the resignation of the President, or in the event of his inability or refusal to act, the Vice President shall perform the duties of the President and when so acting shall have all the powers of and be subject to all the restrictions upon the President.  The Vice President shall also have the power to sign money disbursements made in the mane of the Academy.  The Vice President shall be responsible for all Academy equipment except for field equipment.  The Vice President shall also be responsible for overseeing score reporting, maintaining required records, and reporting scores of games in which teams of the Academy participate. 

Treasurer:  The Treasurer of the Academy shall have the following duties and responsibilities: 1) to ensure the sound financial operation of the Academy; 2) to oversee the financial (including budget process) policies and procedures for the Academy; 3) to collect all dues, fees, and fines; 4) to sign money disbursements made in the name of the Academy; 5) to present a statement of account at every regular meeting of the Academy, to the Board of Directors, and at other times when requested by the Board of Directors and make a full report at the Annual Meeting; 6) to provide financial records as necessary for compliance with any governmental agency required filings; and 7) to provide, if requested, to the ISA copies of the Academy’s year end financial reports. 

Secretary:  The Secretary shall keep the minutes of the Annual Meeting and of the Board of Directors Meetings; see that all notices are duly given in accordance with the provisions of these Bylaws or as required by law; be custodian of the Academy records; establish, maintain, and update for the benefit of the members, a manual containing rules, regulations, and policies of the Academy.  The Secretary shall provide to the ISA each year in the month of August copies of the Academy’s changes to the Bylaws and any other governing documents.  Furthermore, the Secretary shall ensure that copies year and financial records, changes to the Bylaws, and other governing documents are made available to the Academy’s membership.  In the performance of his/her duties and responsibility, he/she may delegate his/her authority to other officers or agents of the Academy with the approval of the President or the Board of Directors.

Director of Facilities:  The Director of Facilities shall be responsible for all Academy field equipment and shall approve all field assignments.  The Director of Facilities is responsible for securing personnel who will be responsible for marking of the fields and maintenance of the fields and equipment and shall designate assistants to be responsible for placing nets and flags on each field for scheduled games.  The Director of Facilities shall also procure marking materials and be the custodian of all fields marking equipment owned by the Academy.  The Director of Facilities shall be the primary liaison between the property owner and the Academy. 

Director of Referees:  The Director of Referees shall ensure that the schedules for referees are done by a certified assigner.  The Director of Referees shall maintain a program for the recruiting and training of new referees. 

Director of Volunteers:  The Director of Volunteers oversees all parent volunteers associated with the organization. The Director of Volunteers recruits, organizes, and manages volunteer activities prior to and during the playing season. 

Director of Recreation:  The Director of Recreation shall work with the Recreational Coaching Director to oversee all aspects of the recreational program.  The Director of Recreation along with the Executive Director shall be the point of contact for the Recreational Coaching Director. 

Director of Development:  The Director of Development shall coordinate marketing as well as all fundraising and community outreach.  The Director of Development shall oversee club development and strategic partnerships. 

Director of Select: The Director of Select shall work with the Directors of Coaching and Executive Director to oversee all aspects of the select program.  The Director of Select shall be the point of contact for Directors of Select.
