VSA Developmental ProgramAbout
The VSA Developmental Program, (VSA DP,) is a supplementary training program conducted by experienced and qualified VSA coaching staff. It is not designed to replace a player’s Recreational practices or games but instead to complement them. U07, U08, U09 and U10 players with heightened interest in the sport should consider participating in VSA DP to help improve their skills through proper instruction and regular training.
Seasons & Training
VSA DP players are grouped into training groups with other players similar in age and they participate in training sessions conducted by VSA coaching staff. There are typically eight training sessions per season and the program operates during the fall, winter and spring.
Training sessions during the fall and spring seasons are an hour and fifteen minutes in length and are held on Monday afternoons/evenings at the VSA of Waukee Soccer Complex as well as the Grimes Recreational Complex. Typical times are as follows –
During the winter season training sessions are held indoors on Sundays and are typically an hour in length. Group training session times are set for the same time during the season but vary from season to season based on participation levels of each group. Players should expect to be able to participate for an hour between noon and 6:00 PM.
