June 16, 2009 Select tryouts are well underway and as you can imagine events are happening at a rapid pace; we sincerely apologize for the disjointed flow of information. Beginning today, in an effort to help you better understand and stay up to date on the latest information, we have set up a web page http://www.visionsocceracademy.com/Select/next_steps.htm and an e-mail address nextsteps@visionsocceracademy.com to answer questions or concerns regarding any potential strategic alliance initiatives. Our club is poised to make a difficult decision; one that will inevitably upset some of you, but ultimately will bring benefit to the majority. Our promise to you is that we will work to ensure your player has an opportunity to play at a level consistent with ability and commitment. We are in serious discussions with Ankeny Soccer Club (now known as) Iowa Rush to collaborate our U15 and older boys and girls teams. The Vision Soccer Academy of Waukee board of directors feels strongly that we must strive to offer programming that challenges and creates opportunities for our older players. In order to accomplish the goals set forth for each of our older teams we feel it is best to work not only with one organization, but also look to work with all DM area clubs. For the immediate future, Iowa Rush makes good sense to us for several reasons: (1) philosophically we feel we are compatible from both a coaching and an administrative perspective; (2) developmentally we both are compelled to advance opportunities for our older age groups; (3) holistically we see the big picture and have taken notice of the trends across the country. We hope to finalize the deal very soon and flesh out details for everyone to make an informed decision. Timeline: June 17th - Combined tryout for U15 and U16 boys and girls at Prairie Ridge Complex in Ankeny from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. Every player who has registered for tryouts for VSA is invited to attend. There will be no additional fee for attending this combined tryout. Please bring your currently assigned tryout t-shirt. June 18th - 2nd VSA tryout; 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Waukee Stadium June 20th - We will look at tryout registrants from each club and decide on team(s) in each age group & gender June 26th - Bid day … a player will receive a unified bid from Iowa Rush/VSA
